About the Author
Chantal Grosléziat is a musician and an educator who has spent more than 30 years exploring the effect of music on children. She is the author of several books on the topic, including the series Bébés chasseurs des sons (Babies Are Sound Hunters) and the award-winning book and CD collection Contes et berceuses (Stories and Lullabies). Paul Mindy is a percussionist, singer, composer, and arranger who received the Georges Brassens Prize in recognition of his Brazilian music. He has accompanied noted musicians such as Richard Galliano, Carlo Rizzo, and Baden Powell. Elodie Nouhen is a children's album illustrator. She studied at the Ecole Supérieure d’arts graphiques Penninghen in Paris.

LOVED the music~!!

I absolutely love the music that is found on the CD, the songs are a wonderful blend of life and tradition. The percussion is remarkable as you find yourself tapping your toes to some of the more catchier tunes.

I was more impressed with the CD than the storybook, I found some of the illustrations to be dark and there were a few times where I couldn't see the words upon the pages. To read the book as a story doesn't make much sense but when its shared with the CD, it allows a whole new plethora of emotions to ensue.

I would give Songs From The Baobab a four out of five stars. The songs are enriching and shared wonderfully with the listener and the break down of all the songs at the back of the book make for a wonderful addition, especially if you are unaware of the Lullabies and Rhymes of Africa.

This book is a beautiful compilation of traditional Lullabies & Nursery Rhymes. The music is very moving and interesting, the lyrics astounding, but the best is the illustration. It is brilliant.

If your expecting all of the little quips that are in the show this isn't the book for you. This seems to be a book that was before the show started kind of thing. It is all definitely schmidt and is hillarious! If you're a fan of new girl and love when Schmidt has to put money in the jar, then you'll love this book!

well worth the money

i was reluctant to buy this book due to the cost and that it never seems to go on sale. all i can tell you there was i was nuts to not think it would be worth it. there is so much information crammed in here. it is very well written. there are awesome pictures and diagrams on how to rig. the author tells you want tackle or hardware to use where. there is absolutely no substitute for a good teacher in the climbing world. but this book is a great standby to remind you. if you took the time to read my review, thank you, and you should have already bought this book.

It has a lot of good information, BUT the illustrations are very amateurish and child like, when I pay almost $40.00 dollars for an illustrated book I want good illustrations! In my estimation the book is only worth about at the most $20.00 dollars. Try and find a used copy!

Beautifully written and informative!

I am always amazed and delighted to purchase a Shalu Sharma book and this interesting, informative book is definitely one to have. As the reader learns about Hinduism, a religion that is at least 4,000 years old and with over 750 million followers, they will find out some incredible facts about a religion that is also a philosophy of life. I loved Saraswati who is a female God of Wisdom, how awesome is that? The Hindu religion is compiled of many Gods and amazing philosophies to make not only an individual's life better but also the lives of those around them. The author did an amazing job describing the facts of not only this amazing religion but in all aspects of the religion and of India and its beautiful temples and celebrations. Readers will find great illustrations and what I found very interesting, the beautifully written legends that are a must read. Shalu Sharma gives readers a look inside Hinduism and India that can't be found elsewhere and the way she writes brings not only the stories of the past alive but gives readers a glimpse into the amazing present of this religion and philosophy that we can all learn from.

Fascinating Read

A Truly Fascinating Read. I had never given any thought as to what Hinduism really was, or for that matter what it entailed. I was really impressed with all of the forethought and planning that the author had to have put in to the execution of this book. I have to say that the author addressed several misconceptions which I felt was invaluable. Just as an example; the Swastika. Until I read this book, I had no idea that the swastika is and has always been a symbol of good luck in the Hindu Religion and was long before the Nazi's about ruined the meaning of it. I found that the true meaning of Karma comes from the Hindu Religion as well, and yet it is not so different of what many of us believe here in the United States. I love the fact that the author took the time to explain the many different symbols and what they meant in the colorful illustrations throughout her book. I have always been fascinated by art from other cultures, but I admit that I did not understand much of it until now. I can say that from here on out, when I see a picture or statue of a God or Goddess with four arms and hands, three heads or an elephant head, at least now I will know what it means. When the author began detailing the different festivals in the Spring and Fall, it actually made me want to be there in person to participate; I guess my newest goal in life now is to visit India one day! Great job writing and relaying your story, I really enjoyed reading it.

Tabmoli-Handbook of Structural Steel Connection Design and Details

I had purchased the 1st edition of this book when it originally came out and just recently recieved the 2nd edition as a gift. I was extremely impressed with the 1st edition and this new edition makes a fantastic book current with the latest codes and methods. Additionally, the book adds some new discussions about recent trends in the industry such as BIM. While there are many steel member design manuals, there is essentially no other book that complies the current practice of steel connection design in one manual like this book. With chapters written by industry experts, the current practice of steel member connection design is discussed with relevant details, fabricated steel pictures, and worked examples. In some cases, such as Chapter 10 - Connections to Composite Members, I have found this information no where else but this book. If you are looking for a manual for steel connection design, this is it.

This is a very poorly written book. Not only can one not follow the text, but the illustrations are poor as well. It is not comphrensive in its treatment of steel connection design or even concept. I'd avoid this book. In fact, I've learned that almost every book that claims to a handbook is anything but. There is a better treatment of steel connections in Jack MCormac's Steel Design. This book is a dud.

It is designed to be both a useful reference for practitioners and a textbook for a graduate-level course focused on methods for the analysis of repeated measurements. * Scientists who design and analyze studies in which repeated measurements are obtained from each experimental unit
* Graduate students in statistics and biostatistics.
The prerequisites are knowledge of mathematical statistics at the level of Hogg and Craig (1995) and a course in linear regression and ANOVA at the level of Neter et. al. (1985).
The important features of this book include a comprehensive coverage of classical and recent methods for continuous and categorical outcome variables; numerous homework problems at the end of each chapter; and the extensive use of real data sets in examples and homework problems.
The 80 data sets used in the examples and homework problems can be downloaded from www.springer-ny.com at the list of author websites. He received an "Excellence in Continuing Education" award from the American Statistical Association in 2001 and has served as associate editor of the journals Controlled Clinical Trials and The American Statistician and as chair of the Biometrics Section of the ASA.

Extremely clear and extremely useful

Chuck Davis, who has a wealth of experience in modeling repeated measurements, especially in biomedical research, has written an exceptionally clear and useful book on modeling longitudinal data. The book provides the necessary background theory, presented in a very accessible way, and then provides a wealth of practical information and guidance on selection, fitting, and checking models. The book contains an amazing number of datasets useful for those learning the methods discussed, all of the datasets being available from the book's web site. Statistical Methods for the Analysis of Repeated Measurements also describes some methods that are no longer recommended (such as repeated measures analysis of variance) so that readers will know why several newer methods are preferred. The book is of special value to SAS software users but users of other statistical software packages (such as myself) will profit just as much from reading it. I highly recommend this book.
